Zola Quality
Zola Does It Right
At Zola, we insure you get the most nutritious and best tasting drinks by doing three things. First, we start with the highest quality Brazilian Superfruits for maximum nutrients and best taste. Second, we use state-of-the-art harvesting and processing methods in Brazil to quickly and efficiently turn these fruits into pulps that we can transport back to the US for bottling. And finally, we use the best bottling technology possible to blend these pulps into Zola products. This three step process allows Zola to truly control the process from tree to bottle to ensure premium quality, the freshest flavor and maximum nutrient potency.

Açaí
Taken straight from the tree, Açaí berries are 90% seed and 10% pulp. Because of this, Açaí cannot be eaten on its own without going through a process to create Acai pulp.
To create pulp, the berries are put into a pulping machine with water. The berries rub against each other separating the solids from the seed – this process creates the Açaí pulp. The higher the Açaí solids content in the pulp, the higher the grade of Açaí. There are three grades of Açaí – Popular (good), Medio (better) and Especial (best).
Zola always uses the highest grade of Açaí – Açaí Especial.
Harvesting
Our Açaí comes from Igarapé-Miri, a town in the Amazon known to have extremely rich soil and very high quality Açaí. We invest in the people by carefully training local harvesters in the highest quality harvesting systems & processes.
We start with 100% organic Açaí berries that are hand harvested from 30-60 foot palm trees. The Açaí is collected in clean baskets and quickly transported by boat and truck to our production facility nearby, where it is immediately processed into Açaí pulp. Açaí is very delicate and must be processed into pulp quickly or it can lose a significant amount of nutritional content. This speed from harvest-to-process protects the nutritional benefits and the flavor of the Açaí.
It is important to note that Acai grows on the same palm trees that may otherwise be clear cut for Hearts of Palm. Harvesting Açaí puts these palm trees at their highest and best use year after year, thus promoting sustainability.
Production
Our Certified Organic production facility in Brazil uses the latest technologies such as no manual contact, triple washing, flash pasteurization and blast freezing to process our Açaí. That’s how we lock in the natural goodness and retain the antioxidant power. And that’s why Zola tastes so fresh—because it is.
Relationships
It really is true that not all Açaí is created equal. Finding a consistently high quality and reliable source of Açaí can be very hard in the Amazon. That’s why Zola has established relationships with key supply partners which ensure Zola’s high standards are consistently met. We developed Project Zola to empower the people in the local communities where Zola’s Brazilian Superfruits are harvested to improve the quality of life. By doing things right, Zola has priority access to the best quality Açaí and the most consistent supply of Açaí available.
