Project Zola - Supporting the Local Community

At Zola, social responsibility is huge. To support the community where our Acai berries are harvested, we created a unique community program called Project Zola that provides funds for Escola Acaimu (Acaimu School.) The people from the local community handcraft Project Zola bracelets using dried Acai seeds. Zola purchases the bracelets and sells them to our retail partners (with no profit added) who in turn sell them to their customers. For every Project Zola bracelet sold, $1 goes back to the Escola Acaimu to pay for teachers, books and meals for the 142 children that attend Escola Acaimu. In fact, Zola was able to completely fund Acaimu School in 2007 and will continue to support it in the future.
